Notes
Tom went to the village and together with the health committee members moved around the village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements especially facility constructions. Tom arrived after a very heavy storm and most of the committee members had not yet gathered. Tom waited at the meeting place at one of the committee members home until the rain stopped and three of the committee members arrived. They first gave a report of three latrines that had collapsed during the previous storm but one resident had already started digging the new pit for the new latrine to replace the collapsed one. After they started moving around and they visit d homes on the lower section where they found three new pits being dug. In that same section, there was a latrine that had collapsed but the resident had already started constructing it. Tom encouraged the resident to use better construction materials especially bricks instead of mud as well as roofing it. There was also another home were the latrine had collapsed but the resident decided that even though the floor of the Latrine did not collapse, he found it necessary to just construct a new latrine. Tom advised the resident to also use better materials and dig a better pit. While they moved around, they also found new dish racks and Tom encouraged the residents still without dish racks to work together with the committee members to help and guide them on constructing the dish racks.
