Notes
Tom made a visit to ibaako village to meet with village leaders and discuss about how triggering was to be conducted as well as mobilizing residents around the borehole section to attend for the triggering session. When Tom arrived in the village, he was welcomed by the committee of village leaders at the chairman’s office and they first discussed about the baseline survey and what residents were saying about kibo staff moving around the village while conducting the baseline survey. One of the leaders on the committee said some residents went to him inquiring about why people went to there village asking them questions about their homes. He said he gave them explanations and after they all went back with a positive attitude towards the whole survey and that some even were very thankful that an organization was going to their village to work with them to improve on their sanitation and hygiene standards. One other committee members on the leadership committee of the village said some residents had already started on working on some facilities like digging pits as well as constructing shower facilities. After the discussion, Tom requested that they move to one of the sections of the village to mobilize the red about the triggering so that they attend. No soon had they moved out of the chairman’s office than it started raining and they all took shelter back into the chairman’s office. After about two good hours of rain, Tom could not move around but advised and encouraged the committee members to move around the village and mobilize the entire village for triggering. Also the day for triggering was changed to the 29th of November as the district will be demarcating land for the district offices on the 20th.
