Notes
Harriet went to Nabikenge to follow up with smearing of the home facilities and stove usage. She was welcomed by the Chairperson of the group ms. Margret kigongo. The Chairperson led Harriet through the homes of the participants as she inspected the smearing of the home facilities and stove usage. It was very interesting to see most people cooking on their stoves on the daily basis and this was evidenced by the absence of three stones fire in the kitchens and she found food cooking by itself in some homes. One of the participants Mrs kawala Hadija told that the stoves have simplified their lives whereby they no longer worry a bout looking for firewood during the current rainy season since the new stoves uses less firewood and also kibo taught them how to store fire which they use during the rainy season. Also as far as smearing is concerned most people have maintained their homes well smeared and the chairperson told Harriet that they decided always to smear their facilities at end of every six months. This has helped them to keep their stoves and other facilities neat and durable.
