- Notes
- Alex met with the village leaders and the water user committee to discuss about the damage caused by the ongoing rains. There are many homes that were badly affected by the rains and even some houses have collapsed because of the soft ground and sandy rains. It’s been raining almost everyday and many pit latrines in the lower part of the village have sunk down and collapsed. The village leaders made a big outcry that most of the people had lost again their facilities to rains. However, Alex encouraged the leaders to work together and encourage all the people to work on their homes and replace all the collapsed facilities. Alex guided the village leaders and the land owner as they were working on the new land agreement. Mr Kalamba Bashir happily gave out a piece of land measuring 20 by 30 ft. We agree had to wait until the well was completed before the borehole agreement because of the drilling challenges in this village. Alex then told the water committee to mobilize the village to contribute all the materials to build the wall fence around their new well before the well commissioning. It was agreed that in January when the rains have reduced, the fence will be built around the well. Also the hand washing triggering will be conducted in the village to promote hand washing in Kisiro village as WASH also continue to encourage the village to keep up the sanitation standards.
