Tom and the health assistant made a visit to kalalu village to make a first visit to meet with the village leaders and discuss with them about Kibo’s intentions of working with the village to improve on there sanitation and hygiene standards. When they arrived in the village, they met with the secretary of the village who also serves as the chairman LC2 after failing to locate the chairman of the village. She is also the secretary of the Mvule project a program through Kibo group. She was very happy to see kibo staff in the village of kalalu. Even though she was busy at the primary school as the school was closing for the year, she gave Tom and the health assistant some time were Tom shared with her about the sanitation and hygiene program in kibo and how it intends to work in the village with the cooperation of the village leaders and the community. Tom advised that they mobilize for another meeting were he will meet with the village leaders as well as the vhts and some leaders of the Mvule program. The roads were not good and the rains were coming so Tom and the health assistant decided to leave the village. The secretary Miss Christine promised to discuss with the chairman of the village about Tom’s visit after which she will call to give the feedback about the dates to meet. Tom also suggested to the secretary that they focus on the beginning of next year for the first meeting.
