- Notes
- Tape and Suzan went to Naisamula to monitor the stove usage and the maintenance of the other healthy and safe kitchens facilities. When they reached the village, they went straight to the meeting place and got some members sitting outside the community hall with some of their group leaders.
The members warmly welcomed Tape and Suzan to the village and after exchanging greetings, the vice chairperson who was present at that time informed them of how they had suddenly lost one of their members due to an accident that had occurred a week ago. And for that matter, most of the members had already left for burial while others were preparing to leave.
The members together with Kibo staff decided to extend the meeting to another day saying it wouldn’t be appropriate to monitor homes yet most of them were absent that day. However, according to observations, most homes had improved in their sanitation and hygiene and maintained all their facilities especially the dish racks, latrines and shower areas.
The chairperson also reported about the stove building progress, saying that the members had began going out of their village to the neighboring villages and built the fuel efficient stoves which earned them some money. Also the group opened up a savings account where by they each member saved some amount of money weekly meant to help them solve some family/home issues in the future.
Suzan and Tape thanked the members for the developments and improvements in their general sanitation, and encouraged them to always continue with the same spirit of working together as a team. The meeting was adjourned to the next date and time that they all agreed to,giving a chance to everyone to go and attend the burial ceremony.
