Notes
Suzan and Tape went to Kagulu B to monitor the maintenance of the healthy and safe kitchens facilities and the stove usage. When they reached there, they went straight to the meeting place and found the members already gathered with their leaders. The members got excited on seeing Kibo staff that day and began singing and dancing as a sign of happiness. Later on after exchanging greetings and wishing each other a prosperous new year, they settled down for a meeting which was led by the group chairperson Mr. Mukungu Joseph. In the meeting, everyone was given a chance to introduce his/herself since there were some new members who had just joined the group. In the meeting, the chairperson person talked about the stove building activities saying that during the holidays, they managed to build about 8 fuel efficient stoves for some members at their neighboring village named luzinga and were able to save some money they spent on Christmas items and gifts which was so impressive. He also talked about some members who managed to repair and smear all their buildings as well as rebuilding new stoves. The members were also able to start a new savings group where each member would be able to save some money each month and by the end of the year, they would divide up the money saved in their box. Tape and Suzan thanked all the members for being creative and moving forward, encouraging them to maintain the same spirit of working together as a team in their community. The members thanked Kibo group for the educative program introduced in their community promising to always maintain and improve on their facilities so as to live a healthy life with their families. The meeting then came to an end wishing each other a happy stay.
