- Introduction
Nabituluntu is the village that Life Skills is looking at phasing out in the near future and so Lorna went here to remobilize the community on how they will move forward this year and when they were to resume their meetings.
Overview
Lorna called the chairman and mobilizer informing them that she was coming so as for them to make a plan on continuing with the program and to mobilize the community members for the next village meeting. Therefore when Lorna reached the village , she found Paul Baliraine waiting for her. They sat at his home chatted for a few minutes where Lorna explained her not being very regular in Nabituluntu and that was because of demand from other villages and Schools. After this brief chat, they decided to move home to home mobilizing the community to come to the next meeting scheduled on the 22 of this month. It is sunny right now and there is less digging going on and so most of the people were found in their homes which was great. Lorna and Paul moved in about 12 homes and in each home they were passing on the information.
In one home however , there were very many people gathered and when Lorna reached there, she was told that their mother was sick. Perudency is suffering from pressure, diabetes at least that’s what she was told.Lorna wondered why she was not in the hospital in her state. They told her that they have just returned from hospital when Lorna asked why?, they told her that the medical bills were too much for them 30,000/= per week. Lorna was able to go into this house sit together with the women expressed her concern towards the situation and gave them some money. They thanked Lorna so much for this kind act. The sad part in all this is the community is waiting for her fate as they seem to have given up. The old woman is however in so much pain.
Conclusion
They decided to meet on 22 January and at 12pm. She urged the community members to keep time and be very much involved in the program. After this Lorna went back to Jinja. She did not finish other homes because she was not feeling well.
