Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members, their intention was to check on the new facility constructions. And encouraging them to work hard on their facilities like latrines, dish racks, rubbish pits, kitchens and shower facilities. Good enough some homes have worked on their new latrines like constructing them with bricks and cement. And their planing to get money for buying iron sheets for roofing them like Kasadha lsabirye he constructed his new latrine with bricks and cement and others are still continuing to construct them. For those who have worked on their latrines, the group was encouraging them about maintenance and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their latrines and their homes. The reason why kibo is putting much emphasis encouraging the residents how to use ash in their latrines, is to eliminate smell. Because smell can cause flies to be in plenty. And when their many in the village, they cause diseases like diarrhea and typhoid and those diseases sometimes can cause death, mostly on the side of the children. After that Martin had a brief meeting with the village leaders, to discuss about how they help the community members to work on their sanitation facilities. And they decided to make follow ups even if kibo staff is not there. Because the kibo is doing is for themselves. And because of their effort, kibo also is willing to work with that community as well as the village. The group walked in 36homes.
