- Notes
- Suzan visited the upper side of the village with the intention of monitoring the maintenance of the healthy and safe kitchens facilities and the stove building progress.
But unfortunately on arriving the village, she received sad news from the group chairperson and some members saying that they had suddenly lost one of their members that very afternoon, and according to the Islamic religion, the burial would take place that very evening.
Most members were seen on their way to the funeral carrying some food and firewood. Suzan felt sorry for their loss and also accompanied them to the funeral which was taking place a few kilometers away from the meeting place.
This was important because it made the community members feel loved and cared for by Kibo group in times of sorrow and happiness as well as strengthening their friendly relationship. After mourning together, Suzan requested the chairperson to inform other members about the meeting which would take place some other time when they felt stronger and ready and this would take place after communicating to the group leaders. They wished one another a happy stay and Suzan left the village.
