Notes
Alex B and Chris visited Nabituluntu village and met with 14 men and 16 women, the purpose of the visit was to guide the community members to come up with the bylaws that will guide them through before they draft their constitution. This was very important because the community members have been having a challenge of absenteeism which leads to low quorum in the meeting. Mr Samson Galevu the chairperson first explained to the community members why there is need for bylaws,he said one of the reasons was members who miss meeting yet the matters to be discussed concerned all of them. Secondly he said the community needed the bylaws in order to come up with the days and time they would be meeting in a week. And finally he said the bylaws would help them come up with the penalties/fines for those who decide to miss meetings. The chairperson gave all the members time to give opinions regarding the bylaws and days of meetings because everyone is a stakeholder in the development of their community however Mr Tegu requested Alex B to invite the DFO or CDO to their village to sensitize more on government policies on development and bylaws. Alex advised the community members to come up with lenient and relevant bylaws which would help to streamline their progress as a community however, Chris thanked the women for mobilizing themselves for the meeting and encouraged them to participate in decision making because they are the mothers of the nation. Finally Alex and Chris agreed with the community members to invite the CDO and the DFO for the next meeting with the community to do more sensitization on forestry, bylaws and government policies.
