Notes
Harriet reached in the village when it was raining so heavily. In this village the meetings are always held under a mongo tree which made it so had for the participants to meet there. But some few people around the meeting place when they saw Harriet they decided to move in the rain and meet at the home of one of the committee members Mr. Mpata James. They told Harriet that since she had taken a while with out visiting their village they decided to walk into the rain and meet with her. Harriet couldn’t walk home to home inspecting on the stoves but got an opportunity to get feedback from the few members who had turned up for the meeting. The group through their chairperson Waako told Harriet that they had 10 members who had not got stoves but they have so far built for three of them who were able to build kitchens. Members told Harriet that every one who got a stove cooks on it daily basis to an extent of taking out the three stones that they traditionally cooked on to avoid being tempted to cook on them. Harriet encouraged them to maintain that spirit and ensure that they smear their facilities and construct the firewood risen stand in their kitchens for firewood storage especially those one who lacked them. The group also told Harriet that they plan to start saving to buy plates, cups to add on the source pans that kibo bought for them, form a catering group that will be hired to cook on functions and the money will be brought back to group to do other development projects. Harriet encouraged them to stay working together, always have meetings, discuss development ideas that will lead them to another level.
