- Notes
- Harriet found when the participants had already gathered at the meeting place.the Chairperson LC1 Mr. Kamya Charles welcomed Kibo to his Village and thanked the lord who has always provided guidance, protection and journey mercies to kibo staff that enabled them to work in their village.
Harriet thanked everyone who had turned up for meeting especially reaching there on time.
In the previous meeting kibo staff had left the participants with an assignment of searching for grass so that they present it in the meeting.
Interestingly every member had a heap of grass with him or her though others had brought the wrong type of grass.
Harriet thanked them for commitment and corrected those who had brought the wrong type of grass by showing them the right grass. She also asked those who had succeeded to tell the group when they found so that they can also go there and search for it too, and bring in the next meeting. It was revealed that it was freely found in their village and they promised to work together to ensure that every one brings.
Kibo staff also taught them other materials needed for building stoves such as banana a stems, two old saucepans, a shovel, a basin, water, hoes , termite dirt and active participation by every member. One member called Tibita James told Harriet that this is a very simple program because all the materials required are free and easy to get their community.
Harriet asked the group to chose a committee that will help in coordinating the program because Kibo’s goal is to promote sustainability. Kibo staff guided them and the community was able to elect a committee of Eight members where by the three were men and five women.
Harriet thanked the men and women who accepted to take voluntary leadership for the good of their village. She also commented on the community being sensitive when choosing leaders which will easily promote teamwork thus development.
She also urged the group to respect their leaders and to work closely with them in order to achieve their goal.
