- Notes
- Jeska and Tape went to Ituba Namalowe to follow up with some homes that were still cooking on the three stones fire along side the fuel efficient stoves.
During the previous visit they advised them to take out the traditional three stones.
They reached in the village when the community was not a ware started walking home to home and found when the number of people who had three stones in their kitchens along side the fuel efficient stoves had reduced.
Some participants told them that having the traditional three stones in the kitchens is so tempting especially to the children leading to increased smoke in the kitchen and firewood consumption.
The participants who were able to take out the three stones told kibo staff that they have now seen a great change like reduced smoke in the kitchens, using less firewood, reduced ash as well as cooking food faster.
Kibo staff encouraged the participants to love their stoves, kitchens and other facilities in order to take care and maintain their.
On the side of smearing some people have started smearing their stoves and other facilities. Those with poor facilities were encouraged to improve them.
On the side of firewood storage most members have stored enough firewood in their kitchen and they told kibo staff that they have prepared them selves for the coming rainy season where firewood will be scarce.
