Notes
Harriet found the participants waiting at the meeting place. She asked them to suggest possible challenges that may hinder the success of the stove program. At first women were shy and wanted only the men to give answers . Harriet encouraged them to speak in the meeting because this program will benefit more women than men. In the meeting they came up with challenges like absenteeism by some members especially those who would have got stoves. They said that some of the members in the group might only be targeting to get a stove and after they quit. Harriet asked them that in such situations what should be done to solve it because this person would have cheated the members who worked for her to get a stove and for her she dodges working for them. They came up with so many solutions but zeroed on dismantling the stove so that they all loose. They also expected a challenges of sickness or death that may cause absenteeism but suggested that in situations like that they will inform the group leaders notifying them the challenge because no one plans to be sick or to loose a dear one.The group also agreed to keep time for all their meetings that is 11:30am and who ever comes late will be asked to fetch five jerrycans of water as a punishment. It was a long meeting but worthy because the members were able to collectively come up with policies that they agreed to be fair to all of them.
