- Notes
- Tape went to Ituba Namalowe to follow up on smearing of the home facilities and the construction of firewood risen stands. This is because during the previous visit she found some people when their kitchens were not smeared though some had only the stoves smeared.
She reached in the village as was welcomed by the Chairperson LC1 whom she asked to walk with to inspect the different homes of the participants , monitor progress , encourage and guide them where necessary.
She found some people when they have started smearing but were only concentrating on smearing the walls and Tape encouraged them to smear the floor too to prevent dust that may harbor insects like jiggers which are harmful to their health.
As far as construction of the firewood risen stands some people were still lagging behind and most women told her that their husbands are lazy/ reluctant to build for their wives firewood risen stands for firewood storage.
Tape encouraged the women to politely talk to their husbands to construct for them firewood risen stands for firewood storage. She also encouraged them to use strong poles to avoid it from breaking which might be dangerous to who ever will be in the kitchen at that moment.
The chairperson promised to work with the men in the village to ensure that they help their wives counter parts.Tape encouraged the women to store firewood on the firewood risen stands was their being built for them. They were advised to stock them with firewood that they will use during the rainy season/ scarcity.
