While in the village, Tom was joined by two committee members as the chairman of the village was not present at that time but joined them later. They started off from them lower section of the village and moved to the upper section checking on facility constructions and improvements. As they moved, they saw new facilities being constructed and other being improved upon. Tom and the committee members were encouraging residents on facility standards. In one home they guided the resident on how to construct on the pit using logs. They encouraged the resident to use better logs and use mud to construct the floor. They also encouraged residents on dish rack construction as most residents are not improving on the dish racks. The committee members said they are going to start alternating days where they focus on different facilities each it time move around the village. They said they were to allocate a day for latrines, one day for dish racks etc. they also encouraged residents on hand washing improvements. As they moved around, they saw new hand washing stands being constructed and they encouraged the residents to put jericans on so they can start using the. The committee members said they were very encouraged to see residents embrace hand washing and said they will continue encouraging residents so that many more improve on hand washing.
