Notes
Alex B met forty three community members planting trees in their home, village and community. We discussed how trees should be planted depending on how they should be benefited by the owners. The trees some grow big and tall with roots that can affect the building.Others are good for compound shades. The question to the community was that how should trees be planted? The community gave in their ideas about it.David said that trees for fruits should be planted near homes for security purposes. Most of the trees in the community grow big and tall which are good for wind breakers. He added that only few are still serving since most of them were cut down. People with small land should plant trees whose roots do not reach the buildings and pit latrines. Alex B advised them to plant trees on their land depending on how they will benefit out of them. He told them about the mvule tree how to plant it. The tree is a hard one and grow big and tall.It is good for block the wind from destroying the building and planting. The trees spread the branches wide that require bid space. It is not good to plant them close to each other. The trees that spread branches and have tap roots can withstand mostly wind .Most of the soft wood trees some of them don’t tap roots and because of that the root hold the soil together from soil erosion.Trees also contribute to the Beauty of the home and the community. It is important to know what tree should be planted in the compound since some have good scent. The distance from one tree to another depends on sometimes how the tree grow big and wide. Alex with community next time they will discuss how holes should be dug in teams of size. The texture of the soil in that village what other trees do good .
