Notes
Martin went to Mpumiro, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on the facility constructions in the upper section of that village, good enough the big number of homes are busy digging their new pit latrines and other sanitation facilities like kitchens, rubbish pits, shower areas and hand washing stand. But other homes are not working on their sanitation facilities in a good standard, so the group was forced to encourage the residents about the standards. Even if they are willing to work on their sanitation facilities. The group was planning to get the way how they can improve on their sanitation standards and the speed. And for those who have worked have worked on their sanitation facilities on a good standard, the group was encouraging them about maintenance, smearing and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their latrines as well as the village their homes. But if kibo can not do that, they may be doing nothing. After that Martin had a brief meeting with the village leaders, to discuss about how they can help the community members to increase the speed to work on their sanitation facilities. Unfortunately it was around 3: 00pm and it’s a long distance from that village to Jinja. So they decided to have a meeting on another day. And the reason why kibo staff always work with Chairman LC1 and the VHTs, because those are the easiest people to meet and with them in the community. And they are also willing to work with kibo. As kibo is still working in that village, the group walked in 40homes.
