Notes
Irene visited kagulu village to continue teaching about combining food samples to make a balanced diet following her lesson on nutrition. Then with a review of the previous lesson on the different foods that make up a balanced diet Irene requested the members to mention the different food types as they make food combinations. With interactive combinations using the simplest foods freely available in our communities Irene divided the community members into groups reflecting the different food types basically the energy giving, protective foods and body building foods to make a nutritious meal. After the discussion Irene requested the members to plant in their small gardens since it’s the rainy season and later moved with several people to asses the nutrition in their homes basically tressing on the children under 5 years of age.
