Martin went to Igerera A, he walked around with the Chairman LC1, LC2 and the parish Chief. Their intention was to check on facility construction and standards in that village. But good enough the big number of homes have worked on their latrine constructions, but their some few homes who are still working on their sanitation facilities like digging their new pit latrines and other facilities like kitchens, rubbish pits and shower areas. So the group was putting much emphasis on the standards of latrines, shower areas and kitchens.
Because this is the rain season, if they don’t construct strong facilities, they can not help them for a long time. But according to what is going on in that village, the community members are willing to work on their sanitation facilities, because those who have worked on their sanitation facilities, they have seen the value of using them and to have them in their homes. For those who are still working on their facilities, the group was encouraging them about the standards. And those who have worked on their facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities, the group was encouraging them about the maintenance and smearing their facilities to them clean, and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their latrines as well as their homes. As kibo is still working in that village, and it was raining too much, the group walked in 37homes.
