- Notes
- While in the village of ibaako, Tom and the committee members moved around to check on facility constructions and improvements.
They moved in the upper section of the village near the vocational school. In the first home, they found a new dish rack being constructed. Tom encouraged the resident about the dish rack standard and he promised to get better poles and redo the dish rack. He had also started on a new shower facility. Tom advised him to use a little cement and construct a course of cement to give the shower more strength and durability.
In two other homes around that section, they had started in the reconstruction of the latrine structures after their latrines collapsed due to a heavy storm.
Tom and the two committee members also encouraged them on how to better construct them and roof them to prevent them from collapsing due to heavy storms.
In another home on the same section, they found an old woman with a very nice home. Tom only advice her to dig a rubbish pit as it was the only facility missing.
Her neighbor on the other hand she is not well as she does not have most of the facilities. Also she keeps her goats just around the house which makes the house to have a bad smell and with animals dropping all around.
Tom shared with her the dangers of keeping animals so close to the house or sleeping with animals in the same house. Later the resident accepted to move the animals to another section of the home away from the house.
Tom also was encouraging residents about the construction of better and good facilities to help them improve on their sanitation and hygiene in their homes.
