Notes
Irene visited maliga village to discuss about the way forward as regards the health lessons and their preparedness as regards the COVID 19. The chairman welcomed Irene and said they were so glad she had come back to their village because no health worker or government representatives have come to the village to sensitize them on COVID 19 and there fore people think it’s a political plan so the community has not put much efforts on putting the preventive measures in place. The chairman further asked Irene to create more awareness starting with them because they didn’t also see the use of a mask if they haven’t seen anyone sick in their village and also help answer the many questions they had about COVID19. Irene thanked the chairman and the other members for attend it he meeting and also encouraged them to take the COVID 19 virus serious. Irene continued to say that the meeting will be cut short since most of the members didn’t have a mask neither did they have a scuff to cover on their nose and mouth. Irene also informed the members that in her health lessons if they were to move on a mask is a mandatory until the virus is rendered free from Uganda, and that they wouldn’t go beyond the required number of people that is 10, a hand washing station has to be in place, and the distance of four feet apart mentioned. Irene asked the chairman to act as an example to the community by doing what is required and then the community will follow. And since the members were not wearing masks Irene asked them to ask questions relating to the COVID 19 so as she can help them understand it well. Nairuba asked why COVID was not common in young children, Moses asked is Covid also sexually transmitted, Can one get a re- infection after they have healed from it like it is with the normal flue,Fidah asked if it’s true that the Government wants to test the Covid drug on Africans and that they are using the vaccine on the babies they take in the hospital to be immunized. And so many questions that Irene tried to answer convincing the community members that the information was wrong and that the ministry of health would inform Ugandans on any vaccines that have come up, After the meeting Irene encouraged the members to follow the guidelines of the ministry and that the virus was real claiming lots of lives and that they needed to take precautions.
