Abraham met the new Namutumba district forestry Officer and the purpose was to discuss how Mvule program can go back and work in villages. He came a bit late because he had a sick child whom he first took the hospital and then came at the district. He was so excited to meet Abraham because he said that someone gave him Kibo’s annual budget pamphlets but there was no one to explain more how Kibo does in the villages. Abraham told him as they have been working with the former DFO Mr Ema and now because of Coronavirus they have not been visiting the villages as they used to do. He told him that the district allowed Kibo to go back and start working in villages but it was necessary to meet him in personal as he is new in the district. He told him that Kibo gives Mvule seeding to the community members to plant them on their properties and care for them for a year then Kibo gives each member who had participated in the tree planting one goat to empower them so that they may continue developing their village. He told him that they are not going to have big meeting as they used to do but to meet few people at a time and those can meet others in their homes. The DFO was excited to here that Kibo is concentrating planting indigenous trees which he said that it is great even he asked Abraham if he can get ten Mvule seedlings to plant them at the district. He said that it is good to follow government guidelines concerning Coronavirus to be on the safe side. He told Abraham that there some villages people still gather in hidden places that they have tell them no because if they are found by the government it is will be a big problem. He told Abraham to arrange a day and he would like to go and see what Kibo does in the villages. Abraham had to leave to JInja because it was becoming late.
