Notes
Harriet and Jeska went to Naisamula to meet the local leaders of the Village . The meeting was intended to discuss the way forward on how to resume working in the village during covid 19 period. They found the LC1 and Four Healthy and Safe kitchen committee leaders waiting at the meeting place. The meeting begun with an open prayer that was led by one of the committee leaders called Mulimdwa Moses who thanked God for protection and journey Mercies that enabled kibo to return to their village after the long break due to covid 19. Harriet asked them to discuss how they have been coping up with covid 19 a long side the Healthy and Safe kitchen program. They told them that during that break they paused Healthy and Safe kitchen program because they feared to break the covid 19 guidelines by the ministry of Healthy since it would hard for them to maintain social distance . One member called Nangobi told the group that they can resume their work especially smearing which doesn’t require gathering since every one can do it own their own with a few family members. They also asked kibo to be visiting their village, guide them and encourage them in order for the work to move on perfectly. They also said for the members who had not yet built stoves will be advised to be constructing home facilities Incase they did not have or improve them Incase they were in poor conditions as they prepare to get stoves in future. Kibo staff told them that since they agree to start working as they follow the ministry of Healthy guidelines like maintaining social distance and washing hands before the meeting. Kibo staff also reminded them that according to the ministry of Healthy it is also very important to wear face masks when ever they go in public places , avoid touching their soft parts to avoid the spread of covid 19. The chairperson LC1 Peter thanked kibo for further sensitization about covid 19 and visiting them . He added that sensitization has been going on the radio but not every one in the village owns aradio or at times hard to buy dry cells so when kibo reaches them with such kind of information. He prayed for God’s blessings upon kibo and journey mercies as they travel back to Jinja.
