Notes
Harriet went to Igerera B to follow upon smearing and a few homes that kibo had built for stoves before covid 19 outbreak. She reached in the village when no one was expecting her because she wanted to find them in their day today life other than setting them selves for kibo if they knew that Harriet was going there. This time she concentrated on the lower section of the village and started walking home to as she inspected the home facilities. She walked through 12 homes and out of these eight homes had got stoves earlier and were all cooking on them except one home which had a complain that the stove never let smoke to out of the kitchen . She asked Harriet to help her solve the problem. Harriet looked at the stove to find out why the smoke was contained inside and found when the children had blocked the vent with a stone but they did not notice. As soon she removed the stone immediately smoke started moving out of the kitchen. Also some homes who had not got stoves had smeared their kitchens waiting for the stove to be built in a clean kitchen . They said that they also admire those who have stoves because they use less fire wood , cooks food first and maintains hygiene because the little firewood you use the less ash you is produced. One of the member called Mukose Isma said that since his family got a stove he is motivated to cook with his wife since it is cheap and convenient thus limiting the time wasted in the forest looking for firewood. Also the chairperson of the group told Harriet that their goal is to ensure that every one in the group gets a stove alongside following the ministry of Healthy guidelines. He added that he is very grateful for Kibo’s follow up with motivates and reminds them to work hard. Harriet also encouraged them to maintain their home facilities and continue encouraging one another.
