David Balimunsi and Chris went to mpumiro to follow up with the newly constructed sanitation and hygiene facilities, they were joined by the vice chairman Mr Aziz Isiko and the area VHT by the names Sahil Tumuhise and ,managed to visit close to 25 homes. The vice chairman and the VHT informed David and Chris that he has used the lockdown to encourage his members to renovate the old toilets and put up new ones if necessary. Mr Aziz Isiko said with the help of the WASH committee, he has been able to encourage the members to keep government guidelines like washing of hands, using masks in crowded areas and sanitizing and indeed when Chris and David reached the village, members had had put up hand washing facilities at the entrance of every home. Mrs Aziz kawanguzi whose latrine had collapsed managed to build a new one and was happy for the patience and cooperation Kibo showed to her. The whole observation was that at Least every home had a latrine and hand washing facility but some homes did not use them despite having them in place but David and Chris took the initiative to encourage the members to use the hand washing station to clean their hands. As David and Chris winded up their visitation, they encouraged those who had not yet completed the construction of their facilities to do so and promised to start were thy had stopped in following up the construction of new sanitation facilities on 27/07/2020

2020-07-27 - Purpose: To continue with the home to home follow up on the newly constructed Sanitation facilities.

Newly dug toilets need to be built on as soon as possible before the rains can start.

The community members have been helping each other to build toilets , as a result five more toilets were built.

Members who have not yet completed constructing their dish racks and toilets are expected to complete them before the next visitation.

Program Staff Preparations Next Visit

To keep on phone calling the VHT and the chairman to encourage those who have not put up structures on their toilets to do so .
