- Alex Bamulumbye and Chris visited Bupaluka village, prior to the visitation Alex B and the community members agreed to form groups to be able to meet with the required number and also promised to start clearing their land which they acquired for farming as a group, so Alex b promised to visit and and look around the land, so yesterday’s visit was aimed at also inspecting the land and advice accordingly. Alex b and Chris were able to meet 8 members headed by the area chairman. The chairman as promised before grouped the community members to small numbers , the chairman thanked the community members around for being cooperative. The chairman also reported that the community members hired a four acre piece of land which they cleared and are yet to decide what to grow on it since it’s a planting season, the chairman said members are planning to use their piece of land for farming but the type of crops to plant is what they have not yet agreed on. The chairman took Alex b and Chris to look around the piece of land they acquired, they had cleared it and were planning to use oxen to plough it as soon it rains. The chairman said they had thought of planting soybeans and ground nuts but some members are not supporting the idea so as a chairman he plans to create a dialogue with the community members so that they can agree on what to plant. Alex be encouraged the community members to work together and welcome each other’s ideas, Alex and Chris also promised to visit again next Wednesday to discuss about what the village hopes to plant on their piece of land.
