Suzan and Jessica went to the the lower side of the village to follow up on the maintenance of the healthy and safe kitchens facilities such as smearing of the buildings, stove usage and construction of the firewood storages. When they got there, they were happily received by four group leaders who were already at the meeting place. One of the leaders madam Faridah first informed Kibo staff about some members who requested to teach them once again how to build the fuel stoves since most new members had not mastered all the skills very well. Kibo staff requested the leaders to divide the members into two groups in the coming meeting so that they would discuss the way forward to it. Together they planned to visit a few homes because some group leaders such as the chairperson, VHT and some members had gone to the district for a meeting intended to educate the community about the mosquito nets and to supply to each family. Kibo staff with the leaders began walking through the village while visiting home to home and in the process, they found that all the members visited were cooking on their fuel efficient stoves. Some members had neatly smeared their buildings and stoves with fresh cow dung mixed with mud which was so impressive. A few members needed to rebuild their stoves because they were not built in a right wind direction and were not cooking effectively as they expected. Also some kitchens didn’t have the high risen firewood storages and the dish racks outside the kitchens saying that the termites had eaten them up and were just planning to build new ones. Suzan and Jessica kept on reminding the members to always improve and maintain their facilities as well as their sanitation and hygiene within their homes which would enable them live a healthy life. The members were so grateful for the advice given that day and the meeting came to an end.

2020-07-26 - Purpose: Meeting with a few group members and discuss about issues concerning building fuel efficient stoves.
