Notes
Alex B met nine community members and discussed about how to work in small groups , this was so important because it would put the whole community on the same page as far as developing the village is concerned without going against the guidelines that were put by ministry of health. Prior to the visit , the chairman of the area had agreed to lead his community in forming three groups who will choose their leaders to represent them in every activity and this is exactly what took Alex b in the community, to witness . During the meeting ,the chairman reported that the community was cooperative and so he was able to spearhead the formation of three Groups each group choosing its chairperson. 1—A chairperson is Paul Okanya. 2–B. chairperson. Ronald Kaisu 3—C chairperson Yahaya Waako. In their submissions, the chairpersons loved the idea of creating groups , they said this will enable a fair representation of every member in activities mvule program ought to carry out in the community. Alex B thanked the leaders and commended the idea of small groups and asked the chairperson to cooperate and serve the community. Alex b advised the chairpersons to chose neutral meeting grounds were everyone will feel it convenient to meet. Alex b advised the chairpersons to play their roles of mobilizing the community members for meetings ,coordinating the community members with Mvule program staff, making sure information reaches the people on ground, selecting meeting points , inspecting the issuing of tree seedlings and making sure every member digs the holes very well among others. Mr eddy one of the residents who learnt well how to plant the seedlings pledged to help some members who would need to plant trees. My next visit I will meet the groups and discuss with them challenges within small groups and challenges they have in digging of holes.
