Notes
Martin kibuuka and Chris visited Ibaako village and were able to visit 24 homes to follow up on the construction of new sanitation facilities and their standards, Martin has been making a series of visits and the aim has been following up the standards of sanitation facilities and also encouraging members to renovate the old ones. Chris and Martin were joined by the VHT who welcomed us and pledged to take us around the newly constructed facilities. The VHT said some members who had been absent from their homes were all around thank God for the lockdown because now they are able to talk to the rightful home owners and as a result new toilets have been constructed. The VHT said except a few homes who are a bit slow to construct new toilets , many homes have set up new toilets and washing facilities. The VHT took Martin and Chris to mrs Rebecca whose husband had been locked down in northern Uganda , this lady had no toilet but after Martin and Chris visited her last week, she promised to build a new toilet . Martin and Chris were so happy for mrs Rebecca and encouraged other members who had no new toilets to copy a leaf from mrs Rebecca . In all the homes Martin and Chris visited, they observed that people are embracing the idea of tippy tap at their toilets and thus was so encouraging and also new facilities are being set up in homes which had nothing in place. Martin will be going back to Ibaako to continue with follow up on construction of new sanitation facilities.
