Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on the new facility constructions. Good enough the big number of homes have worked on their new sanitation facilities like Alex Kisambira constructed a new and strong latrine with bricks and cement, plus the shower area, Aramanzan Kamwezi’s new pit latrine 15ft deep it’s under construction, Abudala Mugoya worked on his new latrine plus the new shower area, Alajabu Mugoya’s new pit latrine 20ft deep, he promised to construct it in one week, Abudu Mukose, he is digging a new pit latrine, it’s now 12ft deep, and he is continuing to make it 30ft deeper and Nabirye Teddy, she is a widow, but she promised to work on her new latrine in one week, because the bricks and sand is already there. For those who are still working on their sanitation facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities, the group was encouraging them about maintenance and smearing, to make them strong, clean and to help them for a long time. But for those who are still digging their new pit latrines, the group was encouraging them about depth and standards. But other facilities like kitchens, rubbish pits, dish racks and shower areas it was just standard, when they start constructing them. Generally the community members have worked so hard on their sanitation facilities like digging their new pit latrines and constructing them, rubbish pits, kitchens, dish racks, shower areas and hand washing stands. So the group was encouraging the residents to maintain those home facilities, because they are going to help them, not kibo staff. Like latrines, and hand washing, are going to help them to prevent the diseases like malaria, diarrhea, typhoid plus Covid 19, which is putting much pressure the hall world. As kibo is still continuing to work with that community as well as the village, the group walked around in 30homes.
