Notes
Martin went to Igerera A, he walked around that village in the upper section with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement in that village. Good enough the big number of homes have improved on the home facilities like latrines, kitchens, dish racks, rubbish pits, shower areas and hand washing stands, even if their some homes how are still working on their sanitation facilities like digging their new latrines and constructing them and kitchens like Christopher Kailu’s kitchen it’s still under construction, Mutwalubi he is digging a new latrine it’s now 8ft deep, he is still continuing to make it 30ft deeper, Kailu Nuwa dug a new latrine 25ft deep, it’s under construction. So the group was encouraging those who are still working on their new facilities about standards and maintenance, to make them strong and clean, so that they can help them for a long time. And for those who have worked on their sanitation facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities, the group was encouraging about maintenance and smearing, also to make them strong and clean. And the group was also checking on the hand washing stands in that section, but what encouraged them is that the big number of homes have worked on their hand washing stands. In that section the group saw more than 25 hand washing stands, but they are not using them, because kibo staff promised to give them small jerrycans, so that they can start using them to wash hands. And the group was encouraging the residents to work hard on their home facilities, so that they can work on other things like digging in their gardens to get the food, to help their families. As kibo is still working in that community as well as the village, the group walked in 36homes.
