Notes
Tape went to the upper side of the village to follow up on the stove usage, construction of the raised firewood storages and the smearing of the building. When she got there she went straight to the Chairperson’s home and got some committee group members who warmly welcomed her. Together they sat down and Tape informed them about the purpose of the visit that day and how they were going to carry it out. Without wasting much time, they got up and began walking around the village together while monitoring different facilities in each home. Most facilities were found in a poor condition such as the broken dish racks, kitchens without the firewood storages, un smeared buildings and cracked stoves. Most members said that the previous heavy rains washed off the dirt from their buildings and destroyed their latrines and were planning to repair them when they got free time. Some members managed to maintain their facilities and were cooking on their fuel efficient stoves without any complaints. Tape managed to demonstrate in some homes how to seal off the cracked stoves using dust and water, and she advised them to always do so if they wanted their stoves to stay longer. Tape went ahead and encouraged the members not to give up but instead continue smearing their houses and building firewood storages in their kitchens for it would save time for other lessons in future. She also requested the leaders to always visit their members and encourage them to improve on their facilities for this would enable them live a happy healthy life with their families. The members agreed on the ideas and thanked Tape for the lessons taught that day.
