Ws Notes
David and Steven went to Nawampiti village to continue encouraging the residents to work and improve on their sanitation standards. There emphasis was mainly on the homes which had not worked and improved upon their sanitation. They first visited mr Grace Mwota,s home where they found great progress because he used not to have a structure around his toilet and no shower area but presently he was having them. The wife to mr mwota Grace requested David to give her three days to construct a drying rack and put a door to the shower area and the toilet which were now the only things missing in that home. They moved to mr Abraham kilambayires house who had no any progress and they encouraged the wife who was the only person around that home talking to her husband that he is supposed to work and improve on his home facilities like the rest of his neighbours. They moved to the third home of mr mukama Dauson and found great improvement because he had constructed a new dish rack and a new rubbish pit, and a toilet which were not there. They continued moving to mr kweta musa which was also amongst the stubborn homes where they found a latrine, dish rack and a rubbish pit in progress mr musa kweta promised David a period of one week to finish up with the sanitation improvement in his home. Mr waiswas home, they found when he had started working on the different facilities for example rubbish pit, drying rack all under progress. They advised mr waiswa and his wife to also improve on his kitchen because it wasn’t in a good condition as it needed some improvement and maintenance. They then moved to nawampiti 1 another section because they had left some tasks with some members of improving on some of the old facilities in their homes. One woman called David and Steven and requested them to talk to her husband to dig for them a good pit latrine and shower area. Kibo staff David and Steven called the husband and requested him to commit him self on when he will have finished constructing the two facilities. He requested them for two weeks and Kibo staff allowed him on condition that he constructs a structure on the new short dug pit. David and Steven also encouraged members to pay their contributions to the borehole account. mr kagawa Nelson the borehole chairman and Kibo staff discussed on how they would help the remaining homes to improve on their facilities and hygiene and sanitation. The chairman said that, he will be visiting those homes every evening when the men in those homes are present. They also discussed about the next meeting scheduled for the majority of the homes that had not paid in their contributions, bringing them on board like the rest of the residents and also continuing to encourage unity amongst the community members for further development of nawampiti. The chairman of the borehole mr kagawa nelson told them that they had contributed 60000 shillings. Generally, the majority of the residents have improved on their hygiene and sanitation and they are in their upper 80,s.
