Notes
Harriet and Suzan went to the village to carry out a first evaluation process. When they reached there, they found some of the program leaders at the meeting place who happily welcomed them. Harriet informed the members on how the whole activity would be carried out that day and suggested they form two small groups so as to quicken the whole process. The two groups which were led by Kibo staffs separated and began walking through the village while visiting different homes of the members who participated in the healthy and safe kitchens program. Harriet and Suzan kept on asking the members questions concerning their facilities, their benefits and challenges they faced before and after receiving a fuel efficient stove. Most members replied saying that the healthy and safe kitchens program has greatly changed their lives especially after getting the new improved stoves in the kitchens. They said that they no longer suffered from smoke inhalation which caused red eyes and other diseases, no accidents such as burns, the stoves cooked their food faster yet they used less firewood. The members really appreciated the program and requested for more lessons from Kibo group. Some members had poor facilities such as the dish racks, poor kitchen roofs,no firewood storages in the kitchens and Kibo staff kept on encouraging them to improve on their facilities when they found enough time together. They also encouraged them to always maintain social distance when working together and wash their hands on daily basis so as to avoid the spread of the corona virus and other diseases. They thanked each person for participating that day and the meeting came to an end.
