Notes
Suzan and Tape went to the village to follow up on some homes which had not constructed the firewood storages in their kitchens and smeared their homes and stoves. When they arrived there, they found four leaders at the meeting place who humbly welcomed them to the village. As they sat down together, they exchanged greetings and then the group vice chairperson made a few updates about some program activities that were going on so far. He said that most members had begun roofing their kitchens and constructing the firewood stands. Kibo staff suggested they visit the homes and see how far they had reached with the construction of the facilities and together they got up and walked around the village. About 7 homes were visited that day and it was observed that some members were constructing new kitchens aside the old ones because the previous rains had totally destroyed them, and some had already built the firewood storages in their kitchens which were all filled up with firewood and food. About four kitchens observed that day needed repair and roofing as well as smearing. Kibo staff requested the members to spare some time and improve on their facilities so that they lived happy healthy life with their families. They also encouraged the elderly children to assist their parents in smearing of the buildings and constructing the dish racks which were all broken. Later on, Kibo staff requested the leaders to inform the members at the lower section of the village that they would be meeting in small groups and discuss about building stoves for those who didn’t have kitchens by then. The members accepted the advice and thanked Kibo group for the visit that day.
