Bible Lesson 3: The love of God
Notes
Ida and Akurut went to Nawandyo to teach about God’s love lesson. Ida first introduced Akurut Diana to the community members. Then last lesson preview was done and the community remembered very well. Ida used the story of the lost son to emphasize the love of God towards His people. When one of the village members goes astray like the lost son, when he/she comes back don’t feel bad. Welcome them like the father welcomed his son. Married couples when things don’t go well please work it out, come back to your senses and stand up and go back to the father who is eagerly waiting for you. He will give you a new coat, ring, shoes and many other things. Ida concluded by encouraging the community members to always go back to the father when things don’t work out well as we expected. The lost son came back to his senses and realized that he sinned. When you realize your mistake it’s easy to put things right again. Mr. Ndalike gave a testimony about how he had disowned his daughter who became pregnant before marriage. In Basoga culture this is a disgrace, people laugh and talk about you. So in order to avoid all that , the only way to go was to disown his daughter. Finally after many people talked to him, he forgave his daughter and continued paying school fees after she gave birth. Our father in heaven is waiting for us to come back to our senses and repent, He is ready to receive us however much our sins stink. Let’s be like children who fall and stand to try again, don’t remain down after you have fallen, the good news is that God forgives and forget.
