Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around the village with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to promote hand washing facilities as well as other sanitation facilities. The group was so encouraged to see that those homes who have been lagging behind to work on their sanitation facilities especially digging the new pit latrines, they have started working on them like Okelo Moses, he is digging a new pit latrine it’s now 6ft deep, Kisakye Stephen, he is continuing to dig his new pit latrine to make it 30ft deeper, Samuel Samanya, who hired someone from Kampala, his new pit latrine it’s now 20ft deep and he is continuing to make it 30ft deeper, and the same man, he is digging a new pit latrine for the Church members it’s now 25ft deep and Sarah, Namulondo Kwagala a manger of the Church members, promised to the group, that they are going to construct it in few days, Swaibu Kakaire’s new pit latrine 30ft deep it’s under construction. The group was encouraging those who are still working on their facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower areas about standards and maintenance. For those who have worked on them, the group was encouraging them about maintenance and smearing to make them strong, clean so that they can help them for a long time. And on the side of hand washing, the group was also promoting to the residents how they can construct them. On other facilities like dish racks, rubbish pits, some homes have worked on them and some are still working on them. Generally the community members in that village are hard working people. As kibo is still working in that community as well as the village, the group walked in 32homes.
