Notes
Tape and Suzan went to the lower section of the village purposely to guide the members how to chop the grass into tiny pieces. However, when they got there they met one of the local leaders called Mr. Bumali who informed them that almost all the community members had gone to attend an urgent meeting with one of the political candidate at his home which was about one and half kilometers from the village center. It was also observed that most homes were empty with almost no body while a few homes had children taking and cooking their own food since their parents were away. Tape and Suzan suggested to walk with the chairman to the function since he was also found preparing to leave. To save time as they walked together, they kept checking on the homes of some members who had stayed behind. The chairperson mostly led them to some homes who had built new kitchens and in need of fuel efficient stoves. They were neatly built and smeared although they had the three stones in them. Finally they arrived at the function which seemed not to have begun, and found almost all the members and their leaders gathered there. Kibo staff didn’t want to interfere with their program and requested a few program leaders so that they would briefly discuss on how and when to carry out the teachings in the coming meeting. The old members also promised to teach the new members how to chop the grass so that they would immediately begin building stoves under the guidance of the Kibo staff. Tape and Suzan thanked the members for their time and left the village.
