- Notes
- Suzan went to lower section of the village and followed up on the maintenance of the program facilities at the remaining homes. When she got there, she went to the chairperson’s home and met some group members who welcomed her.
After exchanging greetings and discussing about a few activities going on in the village, they got up and sloped down the village and started visiting some group members who stayed a little bit far from others. They moved home to home while checking on different facilities such as the dish racks, smearing of the buildings, firewood stands, stoves and shower areas.
Most members were found cooking on their new stoves although some of them needed smearing so as to seal off the big cracks. Some kitchens also didn’t have the firewood storages and the kitchen roofs were less of grass. Suzan encouraged the members to improve on all their facilities so that they lived in a healthy environment with their families. One of the active members yet elderly managed to construct her kitchen with the help of other members and now they were preparing to build a fuel efficient stove for her once the walls became dry and stronger.
The group members worked hard as a team to see that they assisted their fellow members especially those who were sickly and weak to construct their facilities. According to the chairperson, the members who received the fuel stoves were a total number of 93 which was so encouraging.
The members also influenced other members from the neighboring villages such as Luzinga and Nabweyo in building stoves and smearing their houses. Suzan thanked everyone for participating in the program activities and requested them to always maintain each facility. Finally the meeting came to an end and they wished each other a happy stay.
