Notes
HARRIET went to Naibowa to guide participants to form groups of six people for easy program implementation as well as follow the ministry of Healthy guidelines to prevent covid 19.she had also planned to teach the participants about smearing and its importance. This time she reached in the village and found the participants waiting for her at the meeting place meaning that they were following the policies they agreed about reaching to the meetings place by 11am.it also gave Harriet enough time to start her lesson immediately and exhaust it. The meeting begun with an open prayer that was led by Nabirye Safina who thanked God for blessing their village with kibo activities. HARRIET told the participants that she plans to divide them in small groups of six people and these small groups are expected to work together as a team.she also told them that she will randomly divide them into groups to promote unity among themselves. She added that for the Healthy and Safe kitchen program to be effective participants should be cooperative. She said that this program requires members in a specific group to reach each other’s home work together to improve the participants home through stove building. She said that the reason why she wants to divide them her selves is that she wants those who have never been together in any development working group to get an opportunity to work together. She also said that in case one member in a group had a conflict with another member in the same group it high time they got rid of such conflicts because the program will require them to work together. Harriet randomly divided the members into small groups of six people each. The participants thanked Kibo’s approach and said that it will encourage them to work together. They also said that they are going to copy Kibo’s example of extending love to them thus encouraged to love one another in the village. HARRIET told the participants the need for smearing of their home facilities as a requirement for one to get a stove.she said that for a member to get a stove she should have a well smeared kitchen, well roofed with a strong wall. She said that smearing enables the facilities to look neat as well as last longer. She asked the participants to identify a home where she can practically demonstrate to them how to smear because some people may not be knowing how to smear. One member Ngobi Ivan suggested that a demonstration should be carried on pastor Wilber’s home since it a meeting place it will act as a good example. The rest of the participants dis agreed with that and said that they know how to smear and asked Harriet to give them only five days to smear at least ten homes in the village to show how active they are. One old woman called Florence Nandego said that for her she will voluntarily coordinate/ practically teach those who may not be knowing how to smear.she said that for her she has always smeared her home facilities from the time she got married in that village. kibo staff with the rest of the members walked into Nandego’s home and it was very one smeared that a demo home for other people in the village to learn from. The chairperson of the group Mrs Juliet thanked Kibo’s way of teaching which is is polite and experimental. She also promised on behalf of the village that next time kibo visits their village they would have smeared over 10 homes to show that they are very committed and interested in the program
