Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the construction of the kitchen roofs which were found leaking, the high risen firewood storages and the smearing of the stoves. When she got there, she went to the meeting place and found some of the group leaders already gathered. They welcomed her and without wasting much time since it was threatening to rain, they got up and began walking around the village together especially monitoring the homes which were found with poor facilities. As they moved, Suzan came across one of the members who was stubborn and had refused to smear her buildings. She was impressed to find that she finally smeared all her buildings and built a high risen firewood storage in her kitchen. Auma was so excited especially now that all her facilities were looking much better, she also said that it was the help of her elderly children that she managed to improve on her facilities. Suzan thanked her for the good work done and encouraged others to do the same for a better healthy life with their families. The members that had not improved on their facilities such as construction of the firewood storages, kitchen roofs which were leaking were requested to do so by the village chairperson because he realized that most members in the village were some how stubborn giving lame excuses all the time. Suzan told the members that it was for their own benefit to see that they improved and maintained all their facilities. The chairperson thanked Kibo staff for such an educative program introduced in their village and said how it has greatly changed people’s lives especially the women who no longer suffer from smoke inhalation and other challenges they used to face while cooking on the old three stones open stoves. Suzan encouraged them to always maintain the same spirit of working together and then wished them a happy stay.
