Notes
Tom and Chris made a visit to kalalu village to meet with the committee members and discuss about the progress of the program. But when they reached the village, the committee members suggested that let the meeting be held at once the coming week. Therefore, they decided to move forward with a follow up in the village checking on sanitation and hygiene improvements with emphasis on hand washing. Tom moved in the lower section while Chris and other committee members moved in the upper section. In the lower section Tom was able to witness one of the committee members helping in the construction of the hand washing stand. Tom thanked him for his efforts towards helping his village improve. Tom also saw new pits as well as new dish racks. Tom and three committee members checked on latrines and guided residents on better construction methods. In the section of the vice chairman, they found three new pits under construction as well as four new dish racks. After there, they all moved toward the upper section to meet up with Chris and another group. Along the way they found a resident digging a new pit for his latrine. It was already at a depth of 20ft. Tom enchiladas to construct a hand washing stand and a dish rack. When they met up with the other group, in the section that they all moved together, they found a big homestead of 5 homes all sharing one latrine which also was not in a good condition. Tom Chris and the committee members encouraged the head of the homestead to mobilize his relatives to work towards improving the sanitation and hygiene of the home.
