Notes
Harriet had planned to go to Kazimba Kungira to continue teaching participants how to practically build fuel efficient stoves. She had also planned to go with the CDO Iwemba Subcounty, the Chairperson LC111 and the parish chief. She wanted to go with them in the village so that they can witness kibo activities and mobilize more participants to participate in the healthy and safe kitchens programs. In the morning before she headed out to the village every thing was ok and the participants told Her that they were waiting for her and the government officials were ready to go with her to the village. On her way it started raining and the community and the CDO told her that road the village had flooded and impassable. Harriet thought that may be by the time she gets there the rain would have stopped and may be the road is fair. When they turned off the main road to the village, the road was very bad, some places were flooded while others were slippery making it hard for the car to go through. She tried to inquire from the community and the CDO Whether there was an alternative road to the village and she was told that there is no alternative road and advised her to go back to Jinja and postpone the trip. Harriet decided to pass by Ibaako village to check on some stoves that kibo had built some time backto see whether they were maintained. She reached in Ibaako when it was still raining, the place was also muddy, slippery, most people were also in doors there fore she did not do much there. However while in Ibaako, she was able to meet one of the participants called Sarah who told her that she is still using her stove as well as the rest of members. Harriet asked her to take the encouraging message to the rest of the members to maintain their stoves . She also told her that because of the rain she is an able to reach all the members that may be she will do it next time.
