Notes
Martin went to Bukudumira village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements. He walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee from the section of the Chairman while they were encouraging the community members about the importance of the hand washing facility and the use of ash in their latrines. Martin and the group were so happy to see that everyone atleast is having the sanitation facilities like latrines, rubbish pits, kitchens and the shower facilities. Also those homes which have been working on their latrines and other sanitation facilities, had completed them like Joseph Buyinza constructed a strong latrine with bricks and cement and the shower area, Sinani Mugoya constructed a strong kitchen with bricks and cement, Esther Twalo constructed a strong latrine with bricks and Moses lsiko constructed a house of two rooms, another room is for the kitchen and another one is for the store. Martin , the LC1 and VHTS were encouraging them to have hand washing facilities near their latrines, and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their homes. When Martin, Chairman LC1 and the VHTS were discussing how to promote hand washing facilities in Bukudumira village. The Chairman LC1 thanked kibo and Martin because of the program of sanitation and hygiene going on in this village. He told him that there is now change. On the side of promoting hand washing facilities in the village, they decided to go home to home teaching them about hand washing facilities. Martin and the group walked in 38homes. In Addition to that kibo gave Bukudumira village three pick Axes but they are all broken. They are requesting for the new pick Axes to improve on their sanitation and hygiene.
