Suzan,Tape and one visitor named Keith went to the village to continue guiding the community how to build the fuel efficient stove because they haven’t mastered all the skills very well.
When they arrived, they were happily welcomed by the community who were already gathered at the meeting place near the mosque. Among the community was the village chairperson l.c.1 Mr.mugote and the program committee group leaders.
Together they first went and checked on the stoves which were first constructed because Keith wanted to witness how the women were enjoying to cook food on them. Good enough some members were found preparing their food on them.
The kitchens were neatly smeared with strong firewood storages stocked with enough dried firewood. The women were so excited to have received the new improved stoves and reported how they were enjoying to cook on them. They said they saved much time for other activities as well as consuming less firewood while cooking on them.
About eight homes were visited on that day and later they went to Namulondo’s home near the mosque where the participants had selected to construct a stove. They fetched the dirt from the anthill at a nearby garden while taking it in front of the kitchen where the stove was going to be constructed.
Kibo staff worked alongside with the community members in all the stove building stages such as mixing the dirt and grass, stamping it until it got ready. They entered into the kitchen in small groups because it was a bigger number of participants that day yet they couldn’t all fit in the kitchen.
During the stove building lessons, some participants kept on asking questions concerning certain steps which was very important because it enabled them learn easily and master all the steps perfectly. In the end, one stove was successfully constructed and the community was grateful for the lessons that day.
