Tom was meant to visit budumba village but while he was on his way, he received a call from the vht encouraging him not to go because they had some problems in the village and therefore Tom rerouted to buluvu village. On reaching there, he found when the vhts were waiting for him because he called them earlier. They first moved in the trading centre where they found a new latrine being constructed. They also moved to the lower section near the police officers place and found when they were continuing with the digging of the pit and Tom encouraged them to continue working. Later they moved to another section of the village where they found more latrines under construction while in one particular home where they were constructing a latrine, there was a sad story of a young boy who now has lost his sight as a consequence of an accident. Tom encouraged the parents to take the boy back to the hospital for review to find out what the problem might be. The boy was knocked by a motorcycle two months ago. He was normal before that but not now, even though he can now walk, he has lost his sight. On a similar incident, Tom contributed some transportation fee to a resident whose three month baby could not defecate. After the involvement of his grandfather in the matter and the vhts, finally the parents took the baby to the hospital for surgery. The doctor told them that if they had delayed in the village one more day, the baby could have lost his life because he had taken a month and a half without defecating. The surgery went well and the parents are back in the village with the baby. Tom encouraged the residents to come to the next village meeting on the 20th as its their deadline day when every body should have all facilities in their homes from latrines, dish racks, shower facility, rubbish pits and kitchen not forgetting the house :)
