Notes
Introduction Lorna went to Kigalama C to Mobilize and follow up on the two families (couples )on how they are progressing on with their lives. One couple has a husband living with HIV while the other are getting counseling and testing. Overview Lorna was supposed to go to Kigalama B but she tried to get in touch over the weekend but failed and so she decided to go to Kigalama C (Namuseno). Lorna has not been in this village for about a month as she was trying to push Kigalama A and B forward. She therefore decided to pay a visit to Namuseno to remobilise the community as well as followup on the discordant HIV positive couple and the ones currently getting tested on their status.Lorna went home to home mobilizing the community to attend the next upcoming meeting scheduled for Monday the 19th. Lorna started with the chairman’s home asking how the village is and what challenges they are facing as a village. First of all he was very happy to see Lorna and told her that the community was asking about her and questioning him when Lorna will be back. He told them that if they changed the time they came for meetings then she would return. Generally he said the village is calm and in fact at the sub county they know this part of Kigalama having the less number of criminal cases, theft and he was actually sermoned and asked how he does it. Lorna thanked him for the job well done in this village and told him when she was returning and also told him to mobilize. He welcomed her and said now he has hope since he saw Lorna and thanked her for coming back. After Lorna had finished her home to home visits , she ended with the two homes of Nabirye and Harriet. At Harriet’s home she was happy to hear that her husband started going for treatment which was very encouraging to hear. Harriet’s mother appreciated Lorna for her continuous encouragement and even Harriets husband was very appreciative. Lorna thanked the family for taking care of him and told them not to tire. At Nabiryes however , Lorna found out that they have not yet gone for their last HIV test because they have had challenges here and there and so they haven’t had time to go back since. In fact they planned to go on the 13 th but as we were still talking she received a call from one of her daughters saying her last born was very sick in Kampala and she needed to go. She therefore told Lorna that they may not be able to go on the 13th but as soon as everything is okay they will go. Lorna encouraged her not to worry and that her daughter will be okay.Lorna reminded her that they are doing this for themselves and the benefit for their family. Unfortunately Lorna did not find Nabiryes husband home. Conclusion Lorna had a successful mobilization as she hopes on Monday to get a good response from the community.
