Notes
Enock and Martin made a visit to check on the progress of sanitation and hygiene in this community. They went to continue teaching, guiding, encouraging, monitoring, mobilizing and evaluate the sanitation levels of the village. During the visit, they emphasized on the many diseases which are caused due of poor sanitation and hygiene for example diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid and all these diseases can lead to death and loss of their beloved ones. We ashamed those men who didn’t have latrines so that all the community members are against them since they are the ones causing a lot is diseases due to open defecation, most of the women pointed to their men to dig latrines then the women can smear all the facilities. Some people are working towards improving their sanitation levels. They walked around to emphasize on the good standard facilities. We were so impressed to see there was a good sanitation improvement in many homes which for many years years they didn’t have latrines. We asked some people how they felt having change in their homes and all were so excited to say they feel good. There families are not ashamed like before, they have attained confidence and more respect. There are some new hand washing stations, some people are also collecting money to buy iron sheets to roof there latrine structures.
